Motril, a pretty town on the Mediterranean Sea with plenty of history, beaches, and natural beauty. The town dates back to the Phoenicians and has the remnants of subsequent inhabitants like the Moorish Castle. The Iglesia Mayor de la Encarnación, is also well worth a look. Playa Granada is a popular beach, known for its golden sand and calm waters. Playa Calahonda is another favorite, offering a scenic cove with crystalline waters.
