Hirtshals is a town and seaport on the coast of Skagerrak on the island of Vendsyssel-Thy at the top of the Jutland peninsula. With its rugged coastline and sandy beaches Hirtshals is good for outdoor activities such as surfing, hiking and birdwatching. It is also home to one of Northern Europe's largest aquariums, where you can discover marine life from the North Sea and learn about the region's maritime heritage. Ferries connect Hirtshals to a number of destinations in Norway.
