Largest city in Saxony and home to one of Europe's oldest universities. Demonstratins here led to the fall of communism in 1989. Leipzig Zoo is one of the most modern zoos in Europe and as of 2018 ranks first in Germany and second in Europe. Leipzig has long been a major centre for music, including classical and modern dark wave.
