Mâcon is a city in the Burgundy region of east-central France. Exhibits at the Musée des Ursulines, a former 17th-century convent, focus on art, archeological excavations and local urban history. La Maison de Bois, a centuries-old house, features a wooden facade with unusual statues of monkeys and masked characters. Dating from the 19th-century, the Église Saint-Pierre is a Romanesque church with twin steeples.
